Hello there lovelies! I know it’s been a minute, if you haven’t heard the big news- we are expecting! Que the doves and fireworks. Between finding out about our sweet baby in early April, to going on our cruise just a few weeks ago, life has been a whirlwind at the Taylor house. So today, I’m getting back to blogging with a fun post- my holy grail, all-time beauty favorites.
Now let me tell you a little bit about my beauty repertoire. I love trying new products. While some people are loyal to a few solid brands, (not that I don’t have my favorites, I do) I am a connoisseur of beauty from across the spectrum, with high end beauty products being my main bread and butter. Over the past three years specifically, I’ve been on the hunt for the best staple beauty products and that’s what I am going to be talking about today, my holy grail favorites! I am going to dive right in and give you guys the deets on how to best spend your beauty budget.
Holy Grail Foundation: Fenty Beauty ($34)
When Rhianna launched her beauty line I wasn’t rushing to Sephora to buy it. Celebrities come out with lines of this and that all the time, so I didn’t expect it to be anything to write home to mama about. However, every beauty blog I was reading around the time of launch was about this foundation. I stopped in and picked up a sample, and whoa. The coverage and wearability of this foundation is life changing.
At $34 per bottle, this highly pigmented, low oil liquid foundation is a complete steal. Not only does it come in at a slightly lower price than most liquid foundations in Sephora, but the shade selection is phenomenal and I just can’t get over how dewy and smooth it makes my skin look. I would say I’ve probably tried around 30+ different foundations and no one beats Fenty in my book.
Holy Grail Concealer: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye ($24)
If you are looking for a concealer that can cover anything from acne to tattoos, the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer is incredible. I would say I’ve tried more concealers than any other beauty product, I’ve always had dark circles under my eyes, and I keep coming back to this concealer.
However, my close second favorite is actually a drug store brand- Maybelline Instant Age Erase ($8). This isn’t as full coverage as the It Cosmetics variety, but it makes for a great daily wear concealer.
Holy Grail Mascara: Benefit They’re Real ($24)
When I’m looking for a mascara, I don’t just look for volume or definition. I also look for mascaras that help extend length AND help hold curl. The brush on this mascara is amazing. The bristles are hard, and separated enough that each lash stands alone instead of clumping together. The formula is also extremely buildable and doesn’t flake or weigh your lashes down from their curl. I always find myself going back to this mascara.
Holy Grail Highlighter: Tarte Amazonian Clay Highlighter ($29)
When I say this is fully pigmented, I mean what you see is what you get. Let me just tell you about this bad boy- the shimmer is on point. It doesn’t look like sparkles, it doesn’t look like an oil slick, it is a healthy glow. The shades they have also compliment undertones. I go for a cool toned highlighter, and their perfect amazonian clay formula not only wears effortlessly, but also blends to look like I just woke up glowing.
While these are my absolute staples, for time’s sake, I am going to list my top brands for other products below:
Eyeshadow Palettes: Lorac and Tarte
Primer: e.l.f.
Lash Primer: Benefit
Bronzer: Lorac
Lip stick: Lipsense
Lip gloss: Sephora brand
Blush: Tarte
Eye Liner: Loreal Liquid Eyeliner
Well there it is! I hope this list helps you get the most out of your beauty budget. Comment your favorite products and brands in the comments below or reach me on my contact page! Until next time, Sweet Dreams and Happy Travels lovelies!
